Statement on my Campaign
I would like to thank everyone who has supported my campaign and helped make it happen. It has been wonderful to meet so many passionate people in the Triangle community who are eager for progressive change in Washington, D.C.
That said, after a recent health issue and due to fundraising challenges, I have decided to withdraw from the 2026 primary for NC District 02. I will not be seeking another office at this time.

Meet Robert
Robert Bennett is a Democrat, climate and clean energy policy expert, proud NC State grad, social scientist and lifelong advocate for science-based solutions. Rooted in the City of Oaks, he’s running for Congress to bring integrity, innovation, and accountability back to Washington.
Robert isn’t a career politician. He’s a public policy nerd who’s seen firsthand how corporate power rigs the system against working families and our planet. From fighting for clean energy and affordability to mentoring students as a middle school lacrosse coach, Robert’s work has always been about building a future that’s fair, sustainable, and rooted in North Carolina values.
